As a family, we have been serving with Training Evangelistic Leadership for the past 14 years: 3 in Guangzhou, 3 in Shanghai, and now 8 in Hong Kong. Rachel and Mark met in Hong Kong, courted in China and were married in Iowa. Joshua was born in Guangzhou, Micah and Daniel--twins--were born in Shanghai and Timothy was born in Hong Kong. All are American Citizens, but only David was born in the United States.

As a family, we are committed to:

  • Knowing and loving God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. (Deuteronomy 6:4-9, 33:13, Matthew 22:37-40, Mark 12:30-31, Luke 10:27)
  • Reaching the lost and winning to Christ those who have little or no chance to hear the gospel, to going to places where few if any go, that we might not build on another man's work, nor give some the chance to hear the gospel twice when others have yet to hear it once! (Romans 15:17-23, Acts 16:6-10, Jonah 1:1-3)
  • Giving all our sons and daughters for the sake of Christ, the gospel and the world--just as God loved the world and gave His One and Only Son for their sin--for the task of world evangelization, that all men wherever we go might be able to call upon God, receive forgiveness of sins and exalt His name forever. (John 3:16, Mark 16:15, Matthew 28:18-20, Isaiah 6:8, 43:3-7, 54:1-3, Romans 10:9-19, Psalm 2:8, 127:3-5)
